iPad Pro owners seem exceptionally satisfied with Apple Pencil, and so Apple is thinking of extending its support to the iPhone as well!

According to new patents, it has been revealed that iPhone would be compatible with Apple’s beloved ‘stylus’ and that the engineers at the Apple are working towards it. The news has come in just after the announcement of Galaxy Note 8 by Samsung.

iOS was designed to be primarily used with our fingers, or at least that was the idea Steve jobs had for not believe in styluses. However, over the years, the company has evolved into the idea of using a more precise pointing device.

With the launch of Apple Pencil in 2015 for iPad Pro, Apple’s tablet has become an even more powerful tool for sketching and taking handwritten notes. And now it seems like the company is warming up to the idea of bringing the tech to iPhone.

The CEO of Apple, Tim Cook, has suggested previously that Apple Pencil is being tested on iPhone internally. Last September he was quoted saying, “If you’ve ever seen what can be created with that pencil on an iPad or an iPhone, it’s unbelievable.”

Ever since then, Apple patents have revealed its work on making iPhone displays compatible with pencils. “In patent application 20170242499 titled “Noise Correction for a Stylus Touch Device,” Apple notes that their patent figure 1 shows a touch screen such as a ‘smartphone or tablet’,” reads the report.

“The patent later explicitly clarifies that the smartphone and tablet are indeed an iPhone and iPad.”

Come fall, iOS 11 would roll out to everyone that would come with some cool new features. This would include the use of Apple Pencil with the ability to markup emails, web pages, screenshots and more. Many people are waiting to be using these features both on iPad and iPhone. Are you?
