5 Hidden iOS 10 Features Apple Didn’t Tell You About

In the recently held WWDC 2016, Apple announced the much-awaited iOS 10 with all these amazing new features that had us going “Wow!” “Whoa!” and “Woohoo!”. If you haven’t yet heard how your iPhone and iPad experience is going to change in the coming months.

However, owing to lack of time, Apple focused only on a few main features in their presentation. There is so much more that iOS 10 has to offer us. So here are all the iOS 10 features that Apple didn’t tell you about!

    Delete Stock Apps

Finally! You can finally delete the stock iOS Apps that you never, ever, EVER use . See you later iTunes and Apple Maps!!

    Open Unlimited Tabs in Safari

Till iOS 6, Safari was allowed to open just 8 tabs. That number was increased to 24 in iOS 7. In iOS 8 and 9, we were allowed up to 36 tabs. However, with iOS 10, there’s not going to be any limit on the number of tabs you can open in Safari. Browse away all you want now, fellas!

    New camera UI for iPad

The camera interface on the iPad is going to get a facelift to be more in tune with its smaller cousin, the iPhone.
And speaking of the camera, iOS 10 also offers faster connectivity and better quality images for FaceTime on iPad. You will never have seen yourself with better clarity.

    Live Photos enhancements

There are three major upgrades to Live Photos. Firstly, you can use image stabilisation on them, meaning photos don’t end up looking like they were shot during an earthquake! Secondly, they are now editable. You can crop them if you want. And finally, you can now use live filters on your live photos. Basically, Live Photos is now Instagram.

    Toll Booths Integration on Maps

Apple Maps gets a feature that has been on Google Maps for ages: the ability to see toll booths while navigating. Apple Maps will now notify you if your route has toll tax booths and show alternative routes, if available.
Note: This doesn’t mean that Apple Maps is suddenly better. It will continue to suck; only, it will now suck in a “revolutionary new way”.

    Bonus: “Seen” Notification in iMessage

The dreaded double blue ticks of WhatsApp are coming to iMessage as well. The “Read” receipts will now be displayed as ticks, making it easier for people to know when you are willfully ignoring them. Works the other way round as well.

iOS 10 promises to be a whole lot of fun, so much so that we want these features right now! Alas, all we can do is wait until September. Of course, you can download the beta version in July, but we highly recommend not doing it. There are a lot of problems with using a beta, and we’ll be writing a detailed post on that soon.

In the meanwhile, catch up on the WWDC. Apple Announced at WWDC. If you own a Mac, you might also be interested in getting to know the new macOS Sierra.
