You’ve Been Using Your iPhone Wrong Till Now

    Spread the word

For iPhone users, perhaps the biggest challenge is to get their battery to last throughout the day without having to charge it at least once. Most of us keep checking the battery meter with a frequency that borders on paranoia. As a self discovered solution, we have made a habit of ‘closing’ apps by swiping up on all the multitasking switcher believing that it makes the phone’s battery last longer. Well, it’s not true.

We hate to break it to you, but closing all open apps to prevent it from draining your phone’s juice does absolutely Nothing. Zip. Zilch. Nada. You’re simply falling prey to a popular misconception which has become so common that it’s assumed to be the prescribed way of using the iPhone.

     Here’s what really happens.

Whenever you double tap the home button, you activate the iPhone’s multitasking switcher, which shows you a list of all the app screens you’ve recently opened. But – this is what most people don’t know –  those apps you see in the multitasking switcher are nothing but static screenshots, like visual bookmarks you can use to jump from one app to the other.

So what about all those apps? How do you keep them from eating away at your precious battery life?

You don’t have to! Yep, that’s right. You DON’T have to individually turn them off, because – and you’re going to love this part – they are programmed to do that AUTOMATICALLY! The iPhone’s operating system is so smart, it shuts down apps on its own, without you having to lift a finger (both literally and figuratively) to do anything.

According to Apple, there’s no need to forcefully close any of the apps. If you haven’t used them in a while, they automatically go into a ‘suspended’ or ‘static’ state. Whenever you access them again, they will jump to life immediately.

Well, isn’t that a load off your head! You no longer have to get fidgety simply because you didn’t clear out all the apps used during the day. You might still do it out of habit – it doesn’t do your iPhone any harm – but nothing good comes of it either.

So, don’t lose any sleep over this and pass on the secret to fellow iPhone users. You’ll not only save their time but their energy as well. And they will thank you for it!
