7 Essential iPad Pro Smart Keyboard Shortcuts

    Spread the word

To say that iPad has a great touch system is stating the obvious, pretty much like saying that the sun is at the center of the solar system. Or that there’s such a thing as gravity that enjoys pulling people down. It’s a pleasure to use the iPad using just its touch interface; but sometimes, you need to hook up an external keyboard, like for instance, when you’re typing out long passages.

The hardcore skeptics among you might say that touch works faster. Well, let us tell you — keyboard is faster, provided you know how to speed things up. Using touch might be convenient for routine tasks, but when it comes to speed of execution, nothing beats keyboard shortcuts.

If you don’t believe us, try these 10 keyboard shortcuts, and tell us if your speed doesn’t improve.

Let’s start with the most rudimentary shortcut of them all:

    The All-knowing Sufficiency:

Press and hold the Command key [ ⌘ ]. This will show you a list of all the available keyboard shortcuts for the particular App you are in.

    The Mac Clones Manifestation:

⌘ + SHIFT + H – Go to the Home screen from anywhere. It’s the substitute for the Home button.
⌘ + SPACE – Brings up Spotlight (Just like on your Mac)
⌘ + TAB – App switcher, lets you toggle between all the open apps.

    The Tabular Acceleration:

CONTROL + TAB – Switch to the next tab in Safari (move right)
CONTROL + SHIFT + TAB – Switch to the previous tab (move left)

    The eMail Equivalency:

    ⌘ + SHIFT + F – Forward the current email
    ⌘ + SHIFT + R – ‘Reply All’ for the current email
    ⌘ + SHIFT + L – Flag the current email
    ⌘ + SHIFT + U – Mark the current message unread.
    ⌘ + OPTION + F – Search your mailbox.

    The Note-taking Optimisation:

    ⌘ + OPTION + L – Create a checklist
    ⌘ + SHIFT + U – Mark a checklist item as checked
    ⌘ + N – Create a new note
    ⌘ + F – Find a note

    The Calendar Reorganisation:

    ⌘ + R – Refresh the Calendar
    ⌘ + T – Go to Today
    ⌘ + 1 – Go to Day View
    ⌘ + 2 – Go to Week View
    ⌘ + 3 – Go to Month View
    ⌘ + 4 – Go to Year View

    The iWorks Initialization:

⌘ + SHIFT + W – Show the word count in your document
⌘ + F – Find something in the document (works on Keynote and Numbers as well)

    ⌘ + SHIFT + K – Add a comment in a keynote
    ⌘ + OPTION + P – Play the current Keynote presentation

    ⌘ + OPTION + C – Copy a style of a spreadsheet box in Numbers
    ⌘ + SHIFT + N – Insert a new sheet in Numbers

Now go be productive as hell!
