Schedule Text Messages on iPhone With This Easy to Use App

    Spread the word

iApple doesn’t let you schedule text messages via the iMessage app. However, like for most things that Apple doesn’t let you do, there is a workaround for this as well.

Introducing Scheduled — a simple, minimalist app that lets you schedule text messages on the iPhone.

    What’s Good?

    • Clean and minimalist user interface.
    • Uncomplicated, easy to set up and use process.
    • Works with multiple chat platforms — iMessage, SMS, Facebook Messenger, Twitter, WhatsApp, or even email.

    What’s Bad?

There’s not much wrong with Scheduled, except for one tiny hitch.

    • You can schedule text messages, but they’ll only get sent when the user verifies them personally. This is a limitation set by Apple on all of the scheduling software out there, so there is nothing much we can do about it. iDownloadBlog explains —

“The way Scheduled work is that it lets you select a recipient, draft a message, and schedule a date and time of when you want to be reminded to send this message. When the day and time come, you will receive a notification from Scheduled. After opening that notification, you will then select what method you want to send the message with, and hit Send.”

How to Schedule a Text Message via Scheduled?

    1. Download and install the app from AppStore.
    2. Grant access to notifications, contacts, etc, when prompted.
    3. When on the main screen, click on Create Message.
    4. On the next screen, click on “To Whom”. Your contact list will open. Choose the contact to whom you wish to send the message.
    5. Click on “Your Personal Message” and type a message.
    6. Click on “When” and choose a date and time.
    7. Click Schedule Message, and you’re good to go.

When the time of the scheduled message comes, you’ll get a notification asking you to verify the message. The text will not go without your choosing to say yes. Which is kind of a good thing too, because it lets you account for a change in heart from the time you’d scheduled the message. What if you don’t want to send it anymore??

Once you choose to send a message, the app will ask you to pick a service. Choose the platform you want to send the message from.

Yes, it’s not the ideal solution to the problem, but given the circumstances, this is the best we’ve got. 🙂
