Okay, here’s the hard truth: Even though Apple users have the iMessage at our disposal, a lot of us (including me) still prefer WhatsApp. And why not? It’s free, it’s got a good UI, and (the best part) I can use it to chat with my Android friends. And that’s probably the reason why iPhone users the world over are unable to let go of WhatsApp.
Keeping both WhatsApp and iPhone users happy, yet another update in this chatting software is bringing in a number of exciting features, like call waiting support. With WhatsApp version 2.19.121, you’ll get to know when you’re getting another WhatsApp call even if you’re already on one. That means you have the power to decide whether you want to continue the call with your friend or jump onto your boss’s incoming call (yes, some bosses call on WhatsApp too!). Just like regular calls, you have the option to ‘End & Accept’, ‘Hold & Accept’, or ‘Decline’ an incoming call.
Interestingly, this feature wasn’t spotted during the testing phase. It’s only now the new version has come out that iPhone users are trying it out and loving it. So far, so good. I hope it stays this way.
Apart from this, the update also brings in a new chat screen design. To be honest, there’s hardly any change to pinpoint, but Apple makers and WhatsApp updaters say that it makes it easier to quickly scan your messages. Users of the Braille keyboard can now send quick messages directly using the VoiceOver mode.
There are also new group privacy settings to help you curb spam invites – a good and much-needed feature. Post the update, you can choose who can send you invites to join a group — anyone or only your contacts (with a few custom exceptions).
If you haven’t explored these features yet, head to the App Store, download the latest version of WhatsApp for iPhone now, and see the changes for yourself. Happy WhatsApping!
