In a hilarious mishap, a retail chain in Italy accidentally offered the 13-inch iPad Air to their loyalty card holders for just 15 euros, i.e., ₹1500! Obviously, most people jumped onto the offer and immediately ordered their brand new super-cheap iPad Air.
It was only after 11 days that the retailer realised they had made a big mistake. Their solution? They asked the customers to either return the iPads or pay the correct price. Like that’s going to happen!
The retail store is trying to rely on general contract law, which states that a company can void a contract if the error made is too obvious. However, the fact that they sent customers emails asking (read: requesting) corrective action instead of any type of formal notice, shows that they are more hopeful than forceful.
If I was one of the lucky customers who got his order in, I’ll open the Mail app on my iPad Air, send a reply to their ‘request’ email saying ‘New iPad, who this?’, and immediately block them!
