Apple has officially kicked off the week of product announcements with the launch of M4 iPad Air (along with the iPhone 17e). But it seems like Apple forgot to replace the previous model’s blueprint with a new one. At first glance, the new iPad Air looks the same as its predecessor — same dimensions, same colours, same display, and the same accessories support. Even the colour options remain the same.
All the noteworthy upgrades are under the hood. The new model has the M4 chip in place of the M3, comes with the newer C1X modem and N1 chip, and bumps the RAM to 12GB from 8GB.
In India, pricing has gone up by ₹5,000 across the board. The 11-inch M4 iPad Air now starts at ₹64,900, while the 13-inch variant starts at ₹84,900. Storage configurations are unchanged as well, with options ranging from 128GB and 256GB to 512GB and 1TB. Pre-orders kick off on 4 March, and the iPad Air officially goes on sale starting 11 March.
Personally, the announcement week doesn’t seem to be off to a great start. The M4 iPad Air has left me unimpressed. Now let’s wait for the budget MacBook and hope that Apple doesn’t fumble that one.
