How to Use Instagram Like A Pro

    Spread the word

To say Instagram is insanely popular is to state the obvious. Any time you see people whip out their phones to take pictures of food, coffee mugs, dogs, sunsets, and of course, their own pretty faces, you can be pretty sure those clicks are going to end up on Instagram.

But there’s a lot you can do on this photo sharing platform than just share photos. Here’s our quick guide on how to use Instagram like a badass!

    Make your profile private

Instagram users, especially the female population, would probably know how to make their profile private, but there are still many who are completely unaware of this feature. Making your profile private ensures people can’t follow you without your permission. No more weirdos scrolling through your photos and leaving behind creepy comments.

    • Open up Instagram and head to your profile (the “human-shaped” icon at the bottom right corner of the app).
    • Click on the Settings button (the small gear icon in the top right corner).
    • Navigate to Account > Private Account. Now toggle it on and this feature is enabled

    Customize Push notifications

You can customise the type of notifications your get from Instagram. If you’re a heavy user, this is a very helpful feature since it helps you manage your notifications.

    • Head to Profile > Settings > Push Notifications
    • You’ll see a variety of options here, from which you can choose the kind of notifications you want to receive.

    Save on Data

Data is the new gold. It’s precious, and we ought to save every last MB of it! So here’s how you can do that on Instagram.

    • Head to Profile > Settings > Mobile/Cellular Data Use
    • Turn on ‘Use Less Data’

    Clear Instagram search history

We spend so much time online that we are bound to leave a trail somewhere. Often, who/what we are looking for online can be embarrassing. So it’s a good thing to delete your history every now and then.

    • Head to Profile > Settings > Clear Search History
    • The app will ask you “Are you sure?”. Hit “Yes”.
    • You’re welcome.

This quick video will show you all the tips mentioned above plus one extra feature! Enjoy!
