WhatsApp has started testing its new iPhone app update through the TestFlight beta program. This update finally introduces the much-requested feature for WhatsApp on iPhone that lets you use more than one phone number on the same device, without relying on apps like WhatsApp Business.
WABetaInfo confirms that users can currently add and use up to two accounts, whether a brand-new one or an existing account. Each account will have its own preferences, including chat history, backup settings, and notifications. WhatsApp has also improved notifications so you’ll receive alerts even from inactive accounts, with each one clearly labeled to avoid confusion.
Switching between accounts will be easy. You can either do it through the Account List or by holding or double-tapping the Settings tab. A small alert will confirm the switch.
While there’s no official release date yet, the testing appears far enough along to suggest the multi-account feature could roll out soon.
