Apple has just made iPhone ownership a little less stressful in India. With its latest update to AppleCare+, the company is giving users more ways to protect their devices—making coverage more flexible, affordable, and tailored to real-life mishaps.
What’s New?
For the first time in India, Apple is offering AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss protection for iPhones. That means up to two incidents of theft and loss per year are now covered. So, if you live in a particularly shady neighbourhood, which honestly could be anywhere in India, you can take a sigh of relief. An important point to remember, however, is that to claim the theft or loss cover, ‘Find My’ needs to be enabled on the device when the incident happens. For many of us, theft or severe damage feels like a “what-if” nightmare. With theft and loss now covered in Apple’s own plan, users don’t need to rely solely on third-party insurance—and that’s a game-changer.
What’s more, Apple has introduced monthly and annual subscription options for AppleCare+ for however long as you want, which is a big shift from the more fixed-term one or two year model that they had until now. The monthly plan starts at just ₹549 and goes up to ₹1,499, which to be fair, is actually pretty affordable by Apple standards. Here is the complete model-wise price list for new Apple Care+ plans.

What Other Aspects Do You Get Covered?
Under these plans, users can enjoy:
- Unlimited accidental damage repairs, using genuine Apple parts, at Apple Stores or Apple-authorized service centers.
- Battery replacement service if your iPhone’s battery health dips below 80%.
- 24/7 priority support, so help is always just a call or a chat away.
There are service fees for claims: for instance, ₹2,500 for screen or back-glass damage, and ₹8,900 for other accidental damage events which remain the same as before.
Why Does It Matter?
One of the most compelling parts of this update is the flexibility. Rather than being locked into a standard duration, you can choose to keep the plan active for as long or as less time as you want—the ball is in your court.
Signing up is simple too: just go to the Settings app on your iPhone, check your coverage options, and enroll. Protection begins immediately once you subscribe.
This launch is more than just a product update—it’s a clear signal that Apple is deepening its commitment to the Indian market. By making premium protection more accessible, Apple is catering to the growing number of iPhone users in India who care about long-term value and peace of mind.
