iPhone 17 Series Takes Center Stage In Apple India’s Latest Sales Report

    Spread the word

As the second quarter of 2026 comes to a close, market analysts are beginning to hand out report cards for Apple’s performance in India. And it looks like one iPhone series has emerged as the clear overachiever, consistently topping the ranks since its launch last year. I’m talking about the iPhone 17 series, of course.

According to market reports, the iPhone 17 series accounted for 44% of Apple’s total India shipments in Q2 2026, making it the company’s best-performing smartphone lineup during the quarter. Despite the quarter typically being a quieter period for smartphone sales, Apple’s latest flagship lineup consistently topped the charts in India.

The iPhone 16 series came second-rank by contributing towards 40% of Apple’s shipments. Furthermore, the iPhone 17e and iPhone 16e accounted for 6% and 5%, respectively—being favoured by the ones looking for affordability and practicality. Even the older iPhone 15 series continued to see steady demand, making up 4% of shipments, which really goes on to show Apple’s ability to sustain interest across multiple generations of devices.

Market experts noted that Apple’s overall quarterly performance was affected by seasonal factors, as the April–June period typically witnesses softer demand before the launch of the next-generation iPhone.

Memory supply constraints are indeed causing the same problems that experts had projected they would cause—surging hardware prices, production delays, and device shortages. Consequently, this has limited shipments during the quarter, impacting the company’s ability to fully capitalize on consumer demand. Despite these challenges, the iPhone 17 series maintained its leadership position, underscoring its popularity in the Indian market.

Looking ahead, analysts expect Apple’s smartphone business in India to regain momentum during the festive season, driven by upcoming sales and product launches, including the iPhone 18 series and the much anticipated foldable iPhone.

While supply-chain issues could, or rather are most likely, to continue in the near term, it is being said that Apple is well positioned to strengthen its presence in India and is projected to capture around 12% of the country’s smartphone market by the end of 2026.
