Alongside the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e, it is being reported that the iPhone Air will also be making a comeback with its second-generation model early next year. Furthermore, new leaks from reliable sources are painting a pretty decent picture. It looks like Apple has finally paid attention to all the critiques about the iPhone Air and has decided to work on those specific things, rather than the unnecessary embellishments that they are so fond of.
Let’s take a better look at what’s being said so far.
Second Camera
With the second iPhone Air model, there will apparently be a second camera at the rear. Isn’t that neat!
The single main camera on the current model has so far been a really big pain point for a lot of users, especially the ones who are more fans of the iPhone camera than the iPhone itself (you know who you are!). However, things are looking up this time around as rumours suggest that the iPhone Air 2 will be featuring a second camera with an ultrawide lens. Although, it seems that users were more inclined towards the telephoto lens, instead of the rumoured ultrawide lens, but still, this counts as a win!
Better Battery
That almost sounds like a tongue twister!
The iPhone Air 2 could be getting a noticeable battery upgrade. According to the leaks, the phone will feature a battery with a capacity of around 3,500 mAh. While that may not seem like a big deal in today’s tech-advanced market, it’s still a step up from the current model’s 3,149 mAh battery. And if the claim is accurate, the iPhone Air 2’s battery would be much closer in size to the iPhone 17’s 3,692 mAh battery—which is a great direction for improvements.
Thin, chic, and ready to leave its flaws behind, the iPhone Air 2 is coming soon.
Essentially, the biggest two weak links of the iPhone Air are getting improvements in the newer version. That’s all we know so far. There could be many other things as well, but personally, I’d be pretty okay with just these two also. Of course, these would come at a very high cost (literally and figuratively), but oh well—when has that really stopped a true Apple fan!
