Good things come to those who wait. Well, while we wait for Apple to restock the iPhone X supply, few lucky ones have been putting the bezel-less iPhone through various tests. The latest to hop on the testing bandwagon is DisplayMate.

DisplayMate, a company specializing in developing professional software for display calibration, is all praises for the new iPhone X display. (No surprises there!) After putting the latest iPhone through extensive testing, the display calibration experts claim that the OLED display trumps all other smartphone displays available in the market. It seems like Apple’s decision of replacing the traditional IPS LCD display with Samsung manufactured OLED Display was indeed a wise one.

Last year iPhone 7 was declared the winner for highest display performance. But we are sure that Apple won’t be seen complaining if iPhone X takes the crown this year.

According to the report by DisplayMate, Apple’s iPhone X wins the title for

Highest Absolute Color Accuracy for any Display (0.9JNCD) which is Visually Indistinguishable From Perfect

Highest Full-Screen Brightness for OLED Smartphones (634 nits)

Highest Full-Screen Contrast Rating in Ambient Light (141)

    Highest Contrast Ratio (Infinite)

    Lowest Screen Reflectance (4.5 percent)

Smallest Brightness Variation with Viewing Angle (22 percent)

The reports also focused on features like Nightshift, True Tone display and Mobile HDR. It further went on to highlight the display calibration. “The iPhone X is an impressive display with close to Text Book Perfect Calibration and Performance!!” Apple has always had impressive color calibration. But the defining factor in the anniversary edition iPhone is the 120Hz touch refresh.

Another thing worth noting, even though both Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X got the highest grade: A+, it’s Apple’s display calibration that makes it stand out. In fact, according to DisplayMate, the iPhone X’s Display is the most color accurate display, including monitors and televisions.
