Hey Siri, I have a question for Team Applesutra

Thank You We’ll get back to you faster that you can say iPhone 12 Pro Max!

    Instagram for Mac

Here’s How to Upload Photos to Instagram from Mac

    Spread the word

Those who haven’t used the Instagram website before would probably find this insane, but yes, we did not actually have the option to publish Instagram posts on a browser before. I know, wild, right? You’d think the user experience team would’ve gotten to it already. Still, what hadn’t once been is now possible and, if you’re wondering, here’s how to upload photos to Instagram from Mac.

Before we begin, don’t get too hopeful; Instagram still continues to ignore iPad users, so no luck there. But if you’re one of the lucky ones (which I, personally, am not), you will now be able to open the Safari browser on your Mac and post images directly.

How to Upload to Instagram from Mac

Spotted first by Matt Navara, the feature allows you to upload photos, edit, and use filters directly from the website.

Though it seems that the feature is still rolling out to users and not everyone has gotten it yet, those who have the feature will get a pop-up message once they log in to their accounts, saying, “Now you can create and share posts directly from your computer.”

And if you’re one of the chosen few, then here’s all you need to know about how to upload photos to Instagram from Mac.

    1. Click the + on the upper right corner between the messages and explore icons.
    2. Choose the photos or videos you want to upload by dragging and dropping them into the box that pops up or “Select From Computer”.
    3. Customise the image according to your needs by changing the size, adding filters, and fiddling with the editing options.
    4. Add your caption, location, alt-text for accessibility, and turn commenting on or off.
    5. Click “Share”, and there you go! You’ve made your first post from your Mac ????

Easy, right? It’s almost as if it’s exactly the same as the mobile app and should’ve been present on the website years ago. Well, at least we’re slowly getting closer to the day using the iPad app will actually be a pleasant experience, but that may just be wishful thinking on my part.

Anyway, did you get this feature yet? Check it out and let us know!
