Thank You We’ll get back to you faster that you can say iPhone 12 Pro Max!

Apple Launches Explained for Our Non-Techie Friends

    Spread the word

If you aren’t an Apple (or tech) freak, all these new Apple products along with their fancy specifications, like 3D Touch, Apple Pencil, etc.,  must be bewildering you. Worry not. We’ve broken down the entire 2-hour presentation into a short 2-min read just for you. Even better, we are talking in real world terms minus, the unnecessary technical jargons. Enjoy the read!

So, What was this mega Apple Event All About?

Yesterday night was Apple’s yearly event in which they announce new products. This time they updated the iPhones and introduced new iPads and the Apple TV. Here is a quick look at all of them.

    iPhone 6S and 6S Plus

    • Same design, with a new color option – rose gold (you can see it in our first image)
    • A cool new touch feature that brings up pop menus on long press (check out the image above)
    • 12 megapixel back camera (earlier it was 8) and 5 megapixel front camera with flash for selfies
    • Faster speeds, quicker internet, and better touch unlock
    • Same pricing, expected in India around Diwali

    iPad Pro

    • A bigger iPad with a screen almost as big as Macbook Pro and Macbook Air (12.9 inches)
    • Better screen quality, sound and speed than iPad Air
    • Optional cover with keyboard and a stylus
    • Will cost Rs. 50,000+, expected in November-December

    Apple TV

    • A media streaming device that connects with your TV to play movies, music, view photos etc.
    • In this new model, Apple has added apps for games, sports, and more.
    • A re-designed remote that supports touch and (Siri) voice control
    • In India, movies catalogue is limited and currently there aren’t any TV shows either. So the experience is limited
    • Should cost Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,0000, expected by year-end.

    Software

    • The new operating system for iPhones and iPads – iOS9 – will be launched on September 16 as a free upgrade.
    • New operating system of Macbooks will be available on 30 September and it will be free as well.
    • WatchOS was also announced, but since the Apple Watches haven’t arrived on the Indian shore, you can skip this part.

That’s it! All the noise and the endless flurry of activity you’ve been seeing on news and tech portals translates into these few basic points. You can now join in the conversations at the Apple clubs that would be popping up like mushrooms all over the place. Have fun! You are welcome!
