Apple is always making headlines—whether there’s a new event, a product launch or just rumours of those events or product launches. Some of those rumours prove accurate, many don’t, but the internet never seems to run out of speculation when it comes to Apple.
Recently, a report claiming that Apple is developing three brand new AI-powered hardware has surfaced, and the source is credible enough to suggest that this might not be a flake.
Let’s take a look at the Apple wearable devices that we can expect to be unveiled soon.
Smart Glasses
The Apple smart glasses are the biggest highlight of the list. From taking photos and recording videos to making phone calls, accessing Siri, playing music, and a lot more—they’ll do it, and probably get you feeling like Tony Stark. However, it is also being said that they’ll probably be only compatible with iPhones, which is a bit of a bummer (but not a surprise given that Apple Watch is also iPhone exclusive)
If launched, these Apple wearable devices would compete directly with smart glasses from Meta. According to reports, Apple is positioning them as “an all-day AI companion” capable of understanding and responding to what the user is seeing and doing in real time. They could also offer significant advantages for navigation and contextual assistance.
Unlike the competitors, Apple is reportedly planning to produce the frames in-house rather than outsourcing them. This could result in a more premium design compared to Meta’s offerings—likely accompanied by a premium price tag as well.
AirPods With Camera
You’d think that Apple has enough areas where they can innovate instead of elongating the list of products and services nobody asked for, but you’d be wrong. The newest addition to that list: AirPods with camera.
That’s right—a pair of AirPods with a built-in camera and enhanced AI functionality are also part of the Apple wearable devices catalogue. The intended goal with this device is to reduce users’ great burden of taking their phones out for every task. With these advanced AirPods in place, all you will have to do is voice out commands and they will take care of the rest.
AI-Wearable Pendant
Apparently, also in the works is a pinnable AI-pendant. The device would only collect information and wouldn’t display or project anything outward. Most of the processing would happen on the connected iPhone rather than on the device itself.
As for the design, the pendant could be worn in two different ways. Users might clip it onto their clothing, or wear it around their neck attached to a necklace.
Of course, there’s no telling when— or even if—these products will actually see the light of day. Rumours are rumours, and Apple has shelved plenty of ideas before.
That said, Apple does have a habit of turning futuristic concepts into real, polished products. Considering how far it has pushed things in recent years with products such as the Vision Pro, it’s not entirely unrealistic to think some of these AI-powered wearables could eventually make it to market.
