Apple Music and iTunes Match are two independent music services provided by Apple. Both provide access to your music library from all of your devices using iCloud. This is what they offer:

    Apple Music:

This is a music streaming service. You can select music to stream to your device on demand. The service includes the curated Internet radio station Beats 1, the blog platform Connect, and iTunes Radio. Apple Music provides music recommendations based on your taste and is integrated with Siri voice commands.

    iTunes Match:

With iTunes Match, all your music can be stored in iCloud — even songs you’ve imported from CDs. You can access your music from all your devices and listen to your entire library wherever you are.

When iTunes Match was first launched in 2011, it had a track limit of 25,000 songs. In other words, you can upload 25k of your own songs in Apple’s iCloud and access them across devices. Many users found this limit frustrating, and they constantly pestered Apple for more. Seems like Apple has heard their demands.

“Last Friday, users started seeing that they could add more tracks to libraries that were at their limit,” reports Kirk McElhearn from Macworld. “A number of users confirmed to me via Twitter, and email, and in comments on my blog, that they had seen their limits increase, though some users were not yet seeing this new limit.”

Eddy Cue, Senior VP at Apple confirmed via Twitter that they had started rolling out support for 100k libraries. If you aren’t able to add more than 25,000 tracks to your iTunes Match or iCloud Music Library library (not counting tracks purchased from the iTunes Store), then this new limit should be coming very soon.

However there hasn’t been an official declaration by Apple. their support document for iTunes Match still says that the limit is 25,000. But it should be obvious that this limit change is useful only to the most hardcore users. For most of us, 25K is plenty!

iTunes Match costs ₹ 1,200 per year, and Apple Music costs ₹120 per month, or ₹190 per month for the family plan. If you want to know more about the two services and how they work, read this article.
