If you’re a fan of WhatsApp and can’t stop yourself from chatting throughout the day, Christmas has definitely come early for you! If rumours are to be believed, a bunch of new amazing WhatsApp features is just around the corner!

Here are all the great things you might be able to get your hands on soon –

    Edit Sent Messages

For anyone who’s ever been screwed over by Autocorrect, this is perhaps one feature they would love to have on WhatsApp. Well, you may just get your wish!

According to a beta doing the rounds amongst developers, WhatsApp will soon let you edit your messages. So finally, you can have a shot at redeeming yourself after that embarrassing autocorrect fail you sent to your friend.

    Delete Sent Messages

What’s better than editing a text? Why deleting it, of course! And WhatsApp seems to echo our thoughts. The new beta also gives users the ability to completely delete a sent message!

Now, even if you send nude pics to your mother by mistake, you won’t have to jump in an old well and die. Simply delete the message and act like all is peachy again in this world!

    Support for Siri

Siri has been on Apple’s agendas in a big way recently. The expansion of the virtual assistant’s reach will soon encompass WhatsApp as well. We’re not sure how exactly Siri will integrate with the chat app, but we’re guessing that you’ll be able to send messages/call WhatsApp contacts directly using Siri.

The last couple of months have also seen other new WhatsApp features that have come to both iOS and Android. Just in case you didn’t know, here are some of the changes:

    Hand Draw on Images

Feeling a little artsy? A new feature lets you draw on images before you send them. You can also add emojis, just like in SnapChat.

    Video Calling and Video Streaming

Yeah, now you can do video chat with your buddies, if they’ve upgraded to the latest version. Also, if you’ve noticed, videos you now receive don’t have to be downloaded fully before you start playing them. They can be played “online” by buffering them, just like YouTube!

I don’t think I have to even encourage you to go and upgrade to the latest version of WhatsApp. I bet you’re already checking out the AppStore right now. Aaaand now, you’re already updating the app. Looks like I am not needed anymore.

I’ll take this as a sign to leave and catch you some other time with more updates. Adios!
