So, without further ado, let’s get into the how’s and when’s of the launch of animated stickers on WhatsApp for iPhone.
What Exactly Are Animated Stickers?
They are little motion enabled stickers depicting things like emotional reactions, rockets launching, and everything else under the sun. And for those of you wondering how that’s any different from GIFs, the answer is all in the longevity. GIFs do two to three rounds before flickering and essentially going haywire. But, animated stickers play on a loop and will only stop “when the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. When the seas go dry, and mountains blow in the wind like leaves. “(C’mon, I can’t be the only one feeling that Game of Thrones fever!)
How Can You Get Them?
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently in the testing stage of animated stickers for iOS, Android, and perhaps even WhatsApp Web. They’re not available for end users yet, but the feature will hopefully be developed soon enough for WhatsApp lovers across platforms to enjoy.
So, if you’re wondering where you can get your hands on these wonder stickers, you’ll, unfortunately, have to wait. As of now, these stickers are still in the developmental phase. But, according to sources, they’re already working well and should become available soon for commercial use. Once they do, they’ll be available in sticker packs that you can use through WhatsApp for iPhone. You’ll also allegedly be able to use third-party stickers within this feature.
