Apple FaceTime: How-To Guide & Pro Tips

Hello, and welcome to the newest episode of ‘How To with Applesutra’! Today’s topic is how to use FaceTime on Apple Devices. Yeah, I know that it’s just an implementation of VOIP with video, something Skype, WhatsApp Video, FB Messenger…blah blah blah have been doing for years. But TBH, every Apple fanboy would agree that run-of-the-mill video calling apps are just not the same as Apple’s FaceTime with its crisp picture, great sound quality, no jaggy compression artifacts… Oops got a little carried away! #SorryNotSorry

Use Apple logo on iPhone, iPad, Mac

Here’s How To Type  On Your Mac, iPhone And iPad

For some weird reason, Apple fanatics (myself included) go on searching for the Apple logo on their iOS or Mac devices. Well, you won’t find it on the standard keyboard or special characters or in the outer space (trust me I tried!). Apple seemingly does not care enough to feed our obsession with its classy, minimalistic logo and thus, refuses to provide us with an easily accessible character option in iOS Keyboard. I mean for all the fan following it has garnered, the half-eaten apple deserves a place in the Emoji Keyboard at least. Don’t you think?

6 Underrated iPhone Utility Apps

Utility Apps aren’t the flashiest of the apps in the App Store, but they sure are useful. Developers have been pushing boundaries of what’s possible in the App world for as long as the App Store has been around. And utility apps, the iPhone equivalent of tools on a Swiss Army Knife have, in many cases, been leading the charge.

How To Reset Apple AirPods

Since their launch, Apple’s AirPods have had a lot going on for them. They are ultra portable, making it easy to boss around Siri, are easy to lose, sound great, look weird AF and are super expensive. Well, that pretty much sums it up! But, as it is with all things electronics, your beloved AirPods can also go wonky too.

iMessage group texts

Here’s How You Can Leave Those Redundant iMessage Groups

You plan a trip with your friends and you create an iMessage group with them to make coordination between everyone easier (Because you move in a rich circle where everyone has an iPhone!). You had a fantastic four days and now you’re back to your dull daily life. But you’re still a part of a now-defunct group that you’d like to exit. How do you do that? How do you leave iMessage groups that you no longer want to be a part of?

Here’s how …

Exiting from iMessage group on iPhone and iPad

  1. Open the Messages app on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Select the conversation from your list.
  3. Enter the name of the group in the message window on the top.
  4. Tap on the Info icon.
  5. Select ‘Leave this Conversation’.

Exiting iMessage group on Macs

  1. Open the Messages app on your Mac.
  2. Select the conversation from your list.
  3. Click on Details in the message window on the top.
  4. Select Leave this Conversation.

There are instances, though, where you aren’t given the option to ‘Leave this Conversation’. It’s either not available or grayed out. Why, you ask? There can be two reasons for such an unfortunate situation:

  1. The option to exit from group texts is only available on iMessage conversations. If it’s a group on SMS or MMS where one or more participant is an Android user, you have no way out.
  2. The group needs to have three or more participants for you to get the option to leave. It isn’t really a group if there are just two participants, right?

When you’re stuck with either of the two situations, you can do two things, albeit they’re temporary.

  1. You can delete the whole conversation, but you’ll only delete the conversation from your end. As soon as someone drops a text, you’ll once again be sucked into the group messages.
  2. You can mute the conversation if you can’t exit the group text. All you have to do is delete the notifications every time someone texts.

So, there you have it. We’ve given you all possible options. May you successfully leave all groups and conversations that you find boring and uninteresting.

Understanding the Difference Between the Two Apple Watch Models

One fine day I was pondering over the ponds (thank Kenny Sebastian for this gem!) wondering whether to future proof myself and go with a GPS+cellular Apple Watch or be a basic bitch and get the GPS model to save those extra bucks and buy a house!  If you like me are unable to decide between the two Apple Watch versions, here’s a showdown that might help you choose. Have You Tried the New ‘Sticker Selfies’?

Of all the technology that we’ve seen in the last few decades, there’s probably nothing that stokes a man’s narcissism like selfies. And with iPhones, the concept has been taken to a whole new level. Apple has made it so that selfies are more than just (un)flattering pictures of your duckfaces – they are Sticker Selfies!
